Trailer design is always a compromise - two-wheel trailers can carry a lot of luggage as the weight is directly over the axle, but they’re too wide for narrow tracks. Single-wheel trailers are narrow enough, but the small wheel at the back doesn’t roll as well as a large wheel, and the weight is forward of the wheel.

The Extrawheel is different - a large 26” or 700c wheel is as free-rolling as the bike’s wheels, the weight is directly over the axles, and it’s a very, very simple and tough design.

The hitch and pivots are very clever - the towing yoke is made out of springy steel with hardened steel cups, and these just clip over the ends of a special quick release - no pivots, no pins to lose.

New Model: The new Extrawheel is designed to take panniers instead of bags - perfect if you already have panniers, and lighter too. There are three versions - the Solo comes bare, the Dry comes with two 30l roll-top waterproof panniers, and the Expert comes with two 40l Cordura waterproof panniers.
